Trouble Sleeping? These foods can help you fall asleep!

Are you having trouble sleeping? Don’t worry; these foods might just be what you need. Take a look at this list of a few sleep triggering foods and pick the ones that work for you. Besides helping you fall asleep these can also improve the quality of your sleep!

2 | Herbal Teas

3 | Almonds

These contain magnesium which promotes sleep and muscle relaxation. They also have tryptophan that promotes the production of the sleep-inducing hormone, melatonin. Snack on a handful of almonds to get a better night’s sleep.

4 | Bananas

They are a very good source of potassium, magnesium, vitamin B6 and tryptophan. These help relax the muscles and nerves, and have a sleep inducing effect. Eat a banana or have it as a smoothie to fall asleep in no time.

6 | Dairy

Milk, yogurt and other dairy foods contain tryptophan. And on top of that, calcium found in dairy helps brain use tryptophan to manufacture melatonin, besides reducing stress. Go for a dairy choice to get sleepy.

7 | Whole Grains

These foods are rich in fiber, magnesium and complex carbohydrates which increase bioavailability of tryptophan, and thus bring on sleep. Whole grain foods can not only make you sleepy but also help to sleep better and longer.
